I've always called the mexican sweet breads "pan de dulce" but I was wondering where the "de" comes from. Do you say "pan dulce" or "pan de dulce"? Do you laugh at someone who say's pan de dulce or is that cool?

I'm not Mexican but any sweet bread would be "pan dulce" in Spanish. I don't laugh at someone who says "pan de dulce" if I know he doesn't speak Spanish
