Who is the "Welfare" state? I live in California. I was in Bank of America today - 6 people in there banking who spoke no English. The "bank of opportunity" they tout themselves as being... I can not tell you how many times I am in line at the market waiting, forever, because the WIC coupon doesn't register. She is always Hispanic as well, no English. They all have familes and I'm sure they love their kids just as much as I love mine. As an American, born and raised here, my family values are being undermined. If I ever needed help from my government, I could not get it. It's already been allocated to those less fortunate who 90% of the time, are illegal. Go figure. Just my humble opinion.

In a lot of cases, What man?
What welfare state? State is loosening it's grip, and religious organizations are filling in. Believers are doing more of what they were commissioned to do from the beginning.
Family values are sloughing with the slothful. Dr. spock, and Media have done their share too.
But out of the degradation, there is something pure coming out of it, like the century plant, blooming every 100 years.

Because in the "old" days when "men" ruled the home and women were subservient, were not allowed to own land, homes, etc, then everything was hunky dory. Now, when women are allowed to own things and vote about what they want and need, they are casting away their need for the man.
In the Bible it says a woman is to be submissive to a man.
Our society is now lopsided with women's (mainly single mother) issues at the forefront. Instead of leaning on a man for support (as in the Bible) the government is offering its "support."
The end of the Jeffersonian Republic is at hand and Communism (sadly) is here.

Welfare is a necessary thing in a civilized society. Welfare shows every person is worth living in dignity and basic quality of life in spite of their unfortunate circumstances. Is this not a quality that all true Christians would agree with, that all humans have a basic, intrinsic value and dignity, and deserve a basic standard of living?

yep ... all that commie pinko hippy crap about feeding the poor, rich men and their camels not getting into heaven and giving your coat away to a coatless person is giving your coat to Jesus is just so passe'. Jesus is a rabid dog capitalist now and hates the idea of food, housing and health care being provided to the poor. he also applauds wildly when America "the Christian Nation" bombs the life out of smaller, weaker countries in order to steal their natural resources at the behest and for the benefit of mega corporations. Jesus is a neoCon Republican now.
BOORAH!!!
PS. um minnie? got news for you. California was Hispanic long before white bread moved in. haven't you noticed the names of the cities in California? San Fransisco? San Bernadino? Los Angelas? sound kinda Spanish, don't they?

The value of life is being degraded beginning with abortion. Once you devalue life, anything is subject to be devalued.
People do not understand that the values of marriage which have been in effect in this nation since the start is what keeps it strong and free.

what happens when the government controls everything?
does being under the thumb of government to give you money give you any reason to work?
I am not against helping families to get them started, but to rule over them, while giving them money to live only promotes socialism in the family structure.

One of the great problems of our Society is the failure of people to accept their God given responsibilities of looking after their parents and children. Society and Hillary say that it takes a villiage. I say no! It takes accepting responsibility and to quit being so selfish and self centered.
