Someone wrote a book about people who win lotteries. Seems most spend it all or give it away and end up broke. You would have to find the book or an article.

I know that 80% of people who win millions in the lottery have filed for bankruptcy within 5 years of winning.

people dont know how to manage money and take the advice from people who know what they are doing. I would immediately contact a financial advisor so they could guide me in the right direction. The smart, intelligent winner would turn their millions into multimillions. It just seems people are to fast and dont know how to say "no" to people who beg and come out of the woodwork. Not only is it a blessing to win the lottery but alot of publicity and stress comes along with it. People who you know just a little bit seem to be entitled to have some of your winnings. Its a shame, but its true.

See, if it were me, I would not do anything with the money unless I really needed to. I'd put it in investments for a few years to gain interest then live off of that. I would only give money to close friends, family and charities not to the poeple who wnat to know me b/c I've got money.

From what I've seen on tv, not too many. They often end up broke and/or dead of suicide within a few years of winning.
