I'm an atheist, and I greet people with "Merry Christmas," unless i know they don't celebrate Christmas, in which case I greet them appropriately, or if I'm not sure what they celebrate, i simply say "Happy Holidays." I've celebrated Christmas since I was a kid. In my family, it's not a religious thing, it's a time to get the family together and have fun, give gifts, and just generally partake of the holiday spirit.

Besides, celebrations on December 25th existed long before Christianity.

We call it "Miserable Celestial Teapot Day". Because the Teapot, Teabags Be Into It, is not happy. Not happy at all.

Water boils at 0 degrees centigrade in a vacuum. Call that good tea?

Because that's not December 25th.

Celestial Teapot day is April 8th.

Christmas is celebrated as Jesus' Birthday. Jesus was an historic figure as well as a religious figure. Atheists don't claim that Jesus never existed, they just don't believe in the concept of religion.
