IT IS important to question a man's faith who is seeking to be president. He should not use his faith or his religion to achieve any of his policies.

Abraham Lincoln was a deist.

He also said this:

"I am not now, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social or political equality of the white and black races. I am not now nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor of intermarriages with white people. There is a physical difference between the white and the black races which will forever forbid the two races living together on social or political equality. There must be a position of superior and inferior, and I am in favor of assigning the superior position to the white man."

He was a puppet of Big Rail and one of the worst Presidents the USA ever had. The Civil War was about succession, not slavery. He said whatever he had to say to get from A to B, whatever he felt people wanted to hear, and that included his views on religion.

It's fair to question a person's faith if they are seeking public office, because chances are good that if they HAVE religious faith, they can't be trusted because they can't even think for themselves.

No it isn't fair. Faith is no proof that a man will be a good president or not.

What? You mean we shouldn't pick a president because he's an evangelical Christian and then turn around and whine about Iran electing a fundamentalist Muslim for president?
