whey protein is heat sensitive, it is manufactured at very low temperatures because of this. you would only want to add whey protein so say hot cereal (oatmeal) , beverages (hot coco), etc. after they have been removed from the heat source. some people like to cook with protein powders when baking, etc. in those cases it's safe to use egg protein and casein.

it will take effect faster if it is dissolved in a liquid. so i suggest that, not on food.
