how do i record stuff using audacity?

i dont mean record from a computer mic, i mean recording straight from the internet- ex: i have this song i really wanna download but i cant find it on limewire or frostwire so i wanna record it instead using audacity. but how??? tnx in advanced (:

Hi. Open Audacity and select line in as your input. Start your player (CD, tape player, or whatever you have that song on). Put Audacity into 'Record mode'. The song will be recorded. Look at your options for saving it. mp3 or wav is probably your best option. This will create a file that you can play, burn to CD, or whatever you want. You'll have to experiment to get things the way you want. To grab it straight from the internet you should use a program like 'Silent Bob'. Free. http://radio.about.com/library/weekly/aa011503a.htm
