Hi, I am 14 years old and I am an unbaptized publisher of the good news and in the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses.

I have notcied that there are many teenagers that are always getting in big trouble and ruin their lives. Sad to say though, there is only ONE religon I can think of that has some religious God fearing adolescent members.
I am not trying to offend anyone by this question.

My Question is..how many teenagers today actually take religion seriously and stay religious throughout their entire lives?

Good question sis. The real answer is not really any unless they are in that one religion you are speaking of. lol. Public school proves that. thank goodness I am gone.

Hi, I am an unbaptized publisher too, and I've noticed the same thing you have. Today alot of young people get involved in the wrong crowd and do things that could ruin their lives, and I really don't understand it. They know what they are doing is wrong but they do it anyway. And you are absolutely right there is only one religion that I can think of with very god fearing adolescent members, but nobody is perfect. And the answer to your question is very few, but they do exist. And I am doing all I can do to follow in the foot steps of those who remain faithful to Jehovah until the end, and I try to help my fellow friends to do the same.

as you see from the answers here. how rude kids are. look what happened in the mall a few days ago. or children bringing guns to school and killing teachers, students and then themselves. children having babies. my landlord has seven children. the oldest is married and the youngest is a year old. there 18 year old just finished high school this past may and he became a dad in the summer. I mean only 18. a baby have a baby. he has no job and when he does, he does not stay on it. he can not even keep a place to live with his girlfriend because he cannot pay bills. his parents tried to help but he fights with them and they made him leave. watch tv and that is all you hear on talk shows. I am so glad to be with Jehovah God and following Jesus Christ. I became a Jehovah Witness with my late husband in 1990. I was already a mother of three children. I did not grow up as a witness

i am a Jehovah's WItness, too (unbaptized publisher). i understand what u r saying. i think we are close to the only religion that takes it seriously through their whole life. some people who have a very religious upbringing will do the same, though. Just as long as people stay strong in what is right and good and keep their faith then they usually stick with it. People make mistakes and do stupid things, but prayer can help with that.

Even when I was at school many years ago very few of my friends were religious but I was struck by how many were searching for some sort of standard in their life.I used to hold mini bible classes at my lunchtime can you believe! We used to have a christian youth group at our school but they were mainly bapstists and were frankly very rude and irreverent at my beliefs so I stopped going. The teacher I had at school for Religious studies used to publicly deride the bible even though he was a reverend! So hardly a role model.I think there are many that take religion seriously but are afraid to say so-but at the same time I beleive it takes maturity to undersatnd what being a witness means so i would not advocate anyone to get baptised too young.
ANyways I am glad to hear your story-stay happy!

The teens I know are into body building, skateboarding, I Pods, MySpace, makeup, sexy clothes, drinking, drugs and porn and sex.
Most are rebellious and think money grows on trees. The expect the best and pressure their parents then go out and don't come home when they should.

But then there are Jehovah's Witness kids. They attend Christian meetings, hang out with other good Christian kids of their faith. They don't do drugs or drink or try to be worldly in any way.
They find wholesome entertainment and have fun all of the time. They don't have to sneak around or hide because what they do they can do in front of anyone. And most of them are virgins.
Quite a contrast to the other kids their age.
Because their parents talked to them about the dangers of bad association and their need to adhere to God's standards.

Their lives are off to a good start and they have a better chance of not ruining their lives.

Many teenagers to do not take religion seriously because it is not fun. It is boring to listen to a minister preach about something you do not want to listen to. This is how I was until I turned 21.

Teenagers need to have a personal relationship with Jehovah God. I hope that they will search for Him.

In 236 lands throughout the earth, Jehovah's Witnesses offer free home Bible studies to all that want to learn more about the Bible and develop a relationship with Jehovah.

I am so happy that I have a relationship with Jehovah.

Best Wishes to all looking to the Bible for the answers and to have a relationship with Jehovah God.

The recent shooting at the mall in Nebraska is an indication of how teens are today. These rapages are very common these days and I'm sure it's due to the lack of faith in God. Judging by some of the comments, the parents don't feel religion is necessary, and excuse bad behavior as being normal. I can't say that is the right approach.

im out of my teen years now and have been a JW for over 20 years, and started studying when i was almost a teen.
I agree a lot of teens now seem to just be preoccupied with so many other disctractions in life, friends, texting, computers, trying to spend less time away from family and not really being totally focused on what the future in the Bible really is and the good, solid, and wise counsel that all of us can bring from at least trying to develop good morals and decision making abilities that are found in the scriptures.

In reply to one of the commentors, learning the Bible should not start when one is a teen or an adult, teaching anything that is going to be a foundation or have an effect on their daily living should start when a person is young.

Just as you try and teach your child what is right and wrong in life, when do you start that teaching ? Surely not when they are in middle school, you teach them as soon as possible.

This Scripture below says that the Bible should be taught from Infancy, that means when they are young, not after they are grown.

(2 Timothy 3:14-17) 14 You, however, continue in the things that you learned and were persuaded to believe, knowing from what persons you learned them 15 and that from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through the faith in connection with Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

It is a challenge, whatever our age is to remain religous, but really, once you grow to appreciate the Bible, it just becomes a way of life and you don't think that you are missing out on anything.

I first became acquainted with Jehovah's Witnesses as a teenager, however, although I admired their faith I was a devout Baptist. I took my religion very seriously. Sad to say, most of my peers who were Baptist did not. They ran the gamut from Sunday Christians to outright amoral rebels who still remained in good standing with the church as long as they and/or their families paid thier dues. This bothered me, but not enough to quit being very active in the church. Throughout this this time I kept in contact with Jehovah's Witnesses and had to admit to myself that I learned much more about the Bible in the short discussions I had with them than I learned in many hours of church service where much of the sermon often focused on pleas for money. I knew that much of what the church taught was false, but thought that I could make changes from within. I did not want to leave the Baptist religion because I felt I would be betraying my family, who were all staunch Baptist. I finally realized that I was not helping anyone by remaining a part of false religion and would more than likely miss out on the blessings of everlasting life myself. This entire process took more than 20 years. In retrospect, I see that some of the things I did as a teen was a stubborn effort to prove that Baptist youth were every bit as devout as Jehovah's Witness teens. But all around me my peers kept proving me wrong and it was difficult to find good associates in my church or other churches I visited. Only among Jehovah's Witnesses, were the clean, devoted youth in the majority rather than the other way around.
I have no doubt that there are young people who are not Jehovah's Witnessess who may take thier religion seriously as I did and are attempting to remain so. But my personal observation has been that there are very few.
