1. I assume you mean espresso, not expresso, which does not exist.
2. A coffee cup measure is 6 ounces. So, your 12 ounce cup is double the size of a regular coffee cup.
3. A serving of espresso is usually 2 ounces. So, your espresso serving is ½ the normal size.
The 12 ounces of regular coffee would have more caffeine than your shot of espresso.

Oddly enough (it may seem to you), your "regular" American coffee has more caffeine than espresso (in part because you're drinking 8-12 oz instead of 2):
8-ounce beverage:
Coffee, Drip = 15-175 mg
Coffee, Brewed = 80-135 mg
Coffee, Espresso (2 ounces) = 100 mg
Coffee, Instant = 65-100 mg

And these are values for an 8-oz cup (except for the espresso, which is just a quarter of that), whereas you asked about 12 oz (6 times the amount of espresso).

No way does regular coffee compare to espresso in strength. Espresso is definitely the "thinking man's crack".

i like 'em all; I roast my own beans and have seven a thank you to brew. My admired is Turkish coffee yet in view that I could desire to make it outdoors, i've got had to leave out it for the iciness (breaking it out this weekend however). The flavor is wealthy, yet very candy & i like the attempt required. i visit make the occasional cappuccino or latte, yet I like it black. next is my Cafetino vacuum brewer; that is scrumptious and wealthy and exciting to make. My moka pot and low device are my maximum ordinary thank you to pass. as properly, the two could be brewed in under 10 minutes. ultimate (so as): French Press Chemex handbook-drip chilly-brewed of direction, that is all wasted without the clean floor coffee.

1 cup of drip brewed coffee has about 115 milligrams of caffeine, an espresso (and percolated coffee) about 80mg, while instant coffee has about 65mg of caffeine. Decaffeinated coffee is not totally caffeine free, containing about 3mg of caffeine.
