Hello,

I live in CA and have a Kawasaki Police motorcycle with working yellow and white strobes installed. The bike also has working electronic air horn and siren system. There are no police badging and I do not dress or act like a cop, never turn the lights or sirens on, wear a normal harley helmet...etc. Can I be pulled over just or riding normally? Can I be cited for riding this bike? I know yellow and white strobes are legal for civilian use, but what about having a siren installed? Any insight would be appreciated...

Here is a pic...

Okay Im hearing that the bike is legit but the siren is a problem. The siren also has a electronic air horn which is the bikes only available horn. If i disable the siren completely I will not have use of any horn. Will this excuse fly when being pulled over? I literally "never" turn on the police siren part but use the electronic horn as the normal bike horn.

Whats the penalty for being pulled over with the police siren installed and working.... jail time, a fix it ticket (assuming I never used it, just cop found it when pulling me over) or what could happen?

There is nothing illegal about just driving this bike, or they would not have sold it.

Using the siren would be illegal. I suspect it was left on by accident.

NO siren! You have no legitimate reason to equip your bike with a siren, and you will be cited for having it.

The bike looks sweet, though. Completely okay to ride as is.

Maybe you should turn on the siren and flag down a cop and ask :)

Did you buy it at a police auction? If so, the cops should be aware that civilians will be riding around on former police motorcycles. If it wasn't okay, they wouldn't have sold them.

You should be incarcerated for life, wearing a Harley helmet on a Kawasaki, major crime.

Nice bike.
Take off the siren, it's illegal.

I dont know about california, but in my state there would be no problem as long as you didnt use the equipment or impersonate.
