I'm 12 and my dad is considering to buy an airsoft gun, but my mom doesn't like guns. If you say to "show your parents you're responsible," include details on how to be more responsible.

Clean you room. Don't lie. Do things without being asked.

"show your parents you're responsible,"

1) Say they can keep it in their room or where they have control of it until they are sure you will be safe.

2) Learn alot about the safety of handling a firearm! A gun of any kind can injure or kill. IF they give it to you it is a tool use it safely! A saw used dangerously will remove a finger or a hand and an airsoft might just be able to put an eye out.

3) Talk to your dad about WHY you want it. Not to be a rambo etc. to learn how to ... shoot saftely, target shoot, hunting in a few years... etc.

4) Do what you said you would do. If you said target shooting so you can go to some competitions later...etc. THEN DO IT. Don't shoot the neighbours cat or dog.

... and as an extra say something like "I know I'm not old enough for a pellet gun ..."
