well, unlike the other answers. i am a tournament paintballer. for snap shooting, you should practice with the gun by yourself. get into the stance. feets spread about 4-5 ft depending the bunker. facing forward, toward the target. dont face left or right and try to lean over to shoot then you wouldnt be able to switch sides fast enough. i personally practice shooting at a big coffee can so i can hear everytime i hit. and just snap shooting. make sure elbows are in and watch those feets! COMMUNICATION IS KEY! knowing when to make a move. if no one is shooting at you or you cant see anyone then ask your teammates and then move to a better spot. dont waste too much time on gun battling with someone in tournaments. snap shoot, if you cant get him then switch to another target. dont try to shoot 197293172197 balls at the same guy.

I don't paintball, but i do snap shoot with various pistols i own. Yes there is a technique, but it's user specific, what works for me may not work for you, or vice versa. Hold your weapon out like you would if you were going to shoot it, if there's any way possible to practice with a paintball, then do it, see where it hits. if it's not where you want it to be, don't adjust your grip, adjust how you address the target, if you're shooting right, then keep the same grip and aim, but shift, or rotate your body to the left until you're lined up. Snap shooting should be the natural aim of the gun, at whatever grip or stance you take, and quickly firing, without really "aiming", you are in fact "aiming" but it's only because you've hit targets consistantly from a practiced stance that you achieve hits. I know you don;t want to hear practice practice practice, but you have to, but with a learned technique, it gets easier, faster.

I'm no paintballer, but I'll give you an old gun crank's take on the matter.

If by "snap shooting," you mean rapidly aim and fire from the shoulder, try aiming with both eyes. Dry fire practice, if possible with paintball guns, will help. Just practice rapid sight acquisition, and trigger control.

If you mean point shooting, i.e. pointing and firing your weapon without use of sights, nothing will take the place of live fire practice, and lots of it. I don't have time, or room to write a full instruction manual on the fine art of point shooting. By best advise is to find a copy of No Second Place Winner by Bill Jordan, read it and practice, practice, practice.
