I'll bet you don't floss, and if you do you aren't doing it right. You have developed gingivitis and should see your dentist for a treatment plan. Otherwise the gingivitis will progress to pyhorea and you can lose all your teeth.

Don't bother with the typical things people recommend, they do not work very well. And don't panic about getting pyorrhea after gingivitis. Fix the problem now.
There is a very fast way to stop the bleeding and it will only take about 1 to 2 days. The real issue is you want to get on a program to keep it from happening often. You need to floss and eat better, as well as brush your teeth often.
There are cultures in the world that have NO cavities. In fact, they do not even have a doctor in the entire villages. There's no need because the people are healthy and live long lives. There are no drug stores either. They don't even have fluoride toothpaste, either. In fact, they don't have heart disease in their culture. Actually there are many cultures in the world like this. I guess that is why America now ranks 24th in longevity in the world and we have over 53% of ALL Americans chronically ill as of the 2005 CDC report. And that is just the reported ones.
The gum problems you are having are due to your diet and hygiene. There is also a product as I said in the beginning of this answer.
Go to: www.healthline.cc (not .com) and order the following:
Neem Oil --- Rub this on your gums before bed and when you wake up in the morning. The bleeding should stop in 1 day.
Pine Bark Extract --- Mix this with the Neem Oil to make a paste. Use this mixture if you have dental "pockets" to get rid of them. This process takes a few weeks to reduce the pockets. You can reduce pockets as large as 5's in about 8 weeks by following this procedure and all without surgery and expensive dental bills.
The Neem Oil really works and it is so simple to do.
If you are getting plaque build up on your teeth, you are probably also having some digestion issues that you will need to deal with as well. If this is the case, let me know and I can recommend some things that will fix that as well. Additionally, if you have amalgam fillings, you need to get those out as soon as possible. They leach liquid mercury into your body each day. Get the hard ceramic fillings that have a hardness the same as your teeth at 300.
Good luck to you

If your not brushing too hard and your gums are bleeding that much, then I'd say you have a pretty bad case of gingivitis. Consult your dentist and go in for a cleaning. A simple cleaning will cut down on the bleeding alot. There will also be other things that your dentist can suggest.

I used to have that problem, but it was because I had super sensitive gums, and all I had to do was switch toothpaste for a month or so.
You may not think you're brushing hard, but try getting a softer bristled toothbrush.
Good luck.

that used to happen to me and my dentis told me to get a softer tooth brush and it also means that your brushing too hard and if you brush your teeth with tooth paste and baking soda it makes your teeth and gums stronger and whiter.
good luck!
