Power, that's why. Religion is power. Power in numbers, in voting strength, in the ability to make things go your way. Religious faith has, until recently, been considered off-limits where criticism is concerned, never before has it been more possible to actually know what a religious group is doing and speak up about it. The Internet is a great thing because of that. Of course they hate it, because they have no control over it. It is beyond their power to suppress or eradicate.
The same goes for the movie. They want to control who sees it because it doesn't agree with their beliefs. The same goes for Muhammad the teddy bear. They want to riot and intimidate, and are prepared to kill, because their imaginary deity has been "insulted".
What they are afraid of is the number of people who will hear what they are saying and come to the conclusion that it's completely insane, and every day, more people see that, read books about it, and begin to question just what religious faith is and whether or not it actually is a good thing.

Is he retarded? He hates religion but he loves Jesus? I think you'll find that's called Christianity mate He's talking about Jesus being murdered, the crown of thorns, how he loves the Bible, Jesus is the son of God etc. etc. Yeaaah, it's called Christianity, this guys a fool, I think he's trying to secretly get people to leave their religion and join "relationship with Jesus", which is also called Christianity All he's done is cut out the parts like, going to Church and being allowed to watch as much porn as you want and drink as much as you want, which let's be honest, isn't that different to how Christians act anyway

According to whome? I'm not afraid of anything, movies aren't real life and each persons religious teachings are their own habits. People said it about Harry Potter, The Cronicles of Narnia, The Lion the witches and the wardrobe. Any movie that had to do with magic or another existance. I hate generalize false questions like this ... they are so wrong and not understanding of the Christian religion.
-For the record, I LOVE movies like this because I know the difference between fiction and my beleifs. That's just what they are too, my beleifs, not the power of the church or being insecure. For calling Christians judgemental and closed minded you all sure are the pot calling the kettle black. Get a life and respect our choices while we respect theirs.

I'm a Christian and have truthfully been trying to figure this out, I mean if you believe in something, then why should you be threaten by others people's believes? What makes us so sure our way is the right way? I mean I know it's contradicting for me to say as a Christian, it's just that a lot of Christians don't want to believe that other people don't believe what they do.

1) Everyone is scared when something gets too close to the things they love and truely believe in.
2) We believe in a force of good and a force of evil, so naturally we don't want the force of evil promoted even in subtle ways. It's about having standards.

Not afraid. Just warning parents of gullible children. It was written by an atheist and during the three movies, it depicts the killing of God. I think it is a crock but children are gullible. God can stand under any pressure and no athiest is going to even make me think anything wrong about my God. Most athiest are so gullible that they already believe this.

I'm not Christian or Muslim but in all honesty it seems almost everyone gets upset when anything "threatens" their religion or belief. That's just the way most people are. Say anything that differs from what they believe and panties start knotting.

To stand up for something that you belive in is so powerful, and it takes a strong faithful person to do so. In this life, that is filled with temptation, chances are one will fall. Christians are trying to make a difference in the face of adversity. If they don't the world will be that more corupt.
My life is so complete with Jesus Christ the Lord of all in it. I have no fear because he lives in my heart. Bad/Evil things will continue to happen to me and those I love, but it's who I take all those stuggles to that keeps me alive!!
Thank you Lord!
