Weird stuff is happening at work. I have a good-paying job (at the moment), but I don't think the group I work with thinks I have the right qualifications (the academic criteria needed). I've seen them interview people for my position before Thanksgiving, & they keep on stalling my project. I'd reasonably see people starting in the new year, not before the holidays, so I think I have no job security

I feel like they're going to get rid of me 12/28 - It's a Friday & the last day of the year. I haven't been doing any work for a while, & it's like they don't trust me with any. They give me something out of obligation it seems rather than necessity

You'd think that people would just get rid of someone b/c someone just didn't work out. The argument there is that some people were nasty & harassing to me when I first started; others sabotaged my work to make me look unqualified. The truth is, I can do my job. The other truth is that they may want someone who looks good on paper

Depending on where you live, there are states called "at-will" states, where either the employee or employer can terminate the employment at any time for any reason or no reason. Trust your instincts, they are more often right than wrong. They are looking to make you redundant, and you should be looking for a new job straightaway. They may offer you a severance package, but it's no substitute for steady income. Look for a new position, and good luck to you. My last employer did the same to me. It took me a long time to find the right job, but I finally did, and I am happier than ever.

Maybe you should start looking for another job and beat them to the punch. Why stick around a place where you are obviously not wanted? Who needs that kind of stress? Life is stressful enough as it is.
