I'm planning a March 29 wedding. I have January 15 marked on my calendar to send and I'm asking for a response by March 1.

Hi. Send them out 8 weeks before the wedding. So that would be January 27.

Usually not before 8 weeks and before about 3-4 weeks. If you are sending them out of the state you live in, take that into consideration too. January is actually about right.

Usually, you should send out your invites about 2 months prior to the event. This will allow plenty of time for your prospective guests to send in their RSVPs (or their declines) and give them a chance to make childcare arrangements, schedule days off from work..etc. In case you have far more people on your list than you can afford to invite (or have space at the reception for) this will also allow you to send out MORE invitations if by chance you do get some "decline" cards in the mail. Yes, January is good.

You should send out your invitations about 6 to 8 weeks prior, so January is just about right.
Congrats!

January is just right, send it right around the first full week with a RSVP of the beginning of February. That way you'll have enough time to call up the rude people who don't RSVP when you tell them to. Then you can get your count to the caterer and reception site.

I think January should be perfect timing. We are sending ours 2 months in advance as well. It will give people a good amount of time to request time off work if needed as well as get babysitters and RSVP.

6 to 8 weeks prior to the wedding, depending on how formal the wedding is, wether you have response cards that guests need to return, and how many guests are having to travel long distance to be at your wedding. Hopefully, you've already notified those who are close to you that you know have to travel. If you need a response card returned to you, you probably should mail them more like 8 weeks prior, since you'll have to give them time to get to the guests, the guests time to fill out the card and mail it back, and then allow for time to call those who don't return the response card.
Good luck!
