I have a meet tomorrow and I am in the freshman shopmore 4X800 releay. It is my frist time running it since 7th grade when I ran a 800 in 2:40. Last week I ran a 400 meter in 60.1 seconds. I am now a freshman in high school, any tips?

i run mid distance in college, there is no need to carb load for the mile or less (only for long distance). eat a powerar about an hour before your race and drink water throughout the day, but dont over do it. pace yourself the first lap (not too fast and not too slow) pick up the pace the second lap and try to sprint around the last 200/150 m. to get better for future races run fartleks or intervals and 200 and 400 repeats for speed and distance (3 or more miles) to build up your cardiovascular endurance. also minimal weight training will help with speed and cardiovascular strength (3 or 4 sets of 15-20 reps), but dont over do it to prevent injury.
hope this helps, good luck

It may depend on what leg you're assigned-first, second, third, etc., and the type of track. I'm assuming it's indoors. With the 800 you shouldn't have to worry about the baton exchange since it's not a sprint. Just pace yourself and ask for advice from your teammates/coach. They should be able to help. Running in a relay can be cool since it's more of a group effort.
