What type of financial aid is available for care givers?

I take care of my dad. He is 78yrs with prostate cancer. I am trying to find financial help for myself to assist me with expences. Thank you!

If you are in the UK, you may be entitled to a Carer's Allowance if you are under 60. Your Dad should be able to claim Attendance Allowance, too, which is designed to pay for help that he needs & if that help is YOU, then it should be used for out-of-pocket expenses.

There is a program where a caregiver can get paid, however, it is based on the income of the patient. If the patient is low income, the patient may qualify for in home care and you can be that caregiver. Check with the Welfare Office if this is a possibility.
