I feel bad when putting her to bed without her eating, but I can't get on to her anymore for not eating. She is never hungry and her mom thinks I never feed her because she tells her she hasn't eaten.

some kids dont eat. All my doctor told me was not to worry if my child didnt eat so long as she showed no ill effects. If child does not eat it is because her body does not need the food and the more you try to make her eat the worse it will be as if you make a fuss then her appetite will deminish. So if the child is fit and healthy dont worry but if the child shows symptons of malnutrition then she certainly needs medical help. But you must make sure child has plenty of fluids.

I have a kid like this too. If she's growing at an average rate, she's obviously getting enough to eat. If she weren't eating enough, she wouldn't be growing! Sometimes we overestimate the amount of food a child needs to eat. Offer her healthy foods she likes, and let her decide how much she wants to eat. It's her body, and she knows when she's hungry and when she's full.

My daughter was started on Pediasure when she lost weight due to severe reflux. She is now 20 months, slightly small but otherwise good height/wieght. But she still has days where she wants to eat NOTHING. I give her Pediasure throughout the day to help. only 4oz at a time (comes in 8oz cans or bottles) so it does not fill her up too much and make her eat even less. But every meal she skips, she gets 4oz Pediasure with the snack. And always 4oz at bedtime just to give her a nutritional boost.

If she is growing, she is obviously eating.

As long as you make sure she isn't subsisting on snacks when out of your sight, and as long as the rules are the same with both parents...

then this is nothing to worry about.

(are you sure your expectations about how much food is enough are realistic for a kid her size?)

Sometimes kids go thru picky eating stages. Get a chewable vitamin and this might help them get an appetite. But feed them things you know they like.

so your not the mum? Bring it up with her. Many say the kids don't eat but if they wrote down every single thing they put in their mouth they would see it adds up. You do not gain weight unless food is going in

oh and stop feeding such processed CRAP. That is not food, give her fruit and veg and a sandwich and meat....that is food .not what you mention, that is junk

Well, I would go with the PediaSure the other person said, and I would consider having her thyroid checked. That was what was making my nephew not eat, but still grow normally.

you could try giving her smoothies...that way she's getting fruits and veggies and she would likely take a drink over food by the sounds of it!
