Choose baked or grill food over fried food,Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits everyday,Avoid food thats high in trans fat and sugar. Also limit your alcohol intake if thats regular in your life along with any tobacco product. Eat at home much as possible because restaurants seem to have more unnecessary ingredients in their food.

Eating healthy can be different for everyone. It depends on how active you are, how old you are, your gender, and your medical history. If you really want an answer that will work for you, I would recommend finding a Registered Dietitian in your area that you can speak with. I am working with one now and it does wonders. For the record you can basically eat anything you want, just in the right portions. Also never restrict yourself from having something, most likely you will eventually give in and will eat more of it. When wanting, lets say chocolate, remind yourself that you can have it anytime you want; it will help you not eat as much of it.

That means to eat good whole foods such as; veggies, lean meats like chicken and fish broiled with no sauces, no fried foods, no junk foods, no sodas. Drink pure water, limit fruit juices with natural sugars and make sure your snacks are not sugary. Read labels, that is very important. What to look for? Calories from fat, sodium (salt content) and sugar (aka; high frutose, or similar names). These things make sure you limit, they are the three deadly sins!

Plant foods: fresh fruit and vegetables in abundance. Grains (like whole wheat bread).
Very little dairy.
Tiny amounts of red meat.
Lots of baked fish.
Hope you try.
