The Bible says God does not care what your outside looks like. He is concerned with your heart.

I only want to be myself and follow my moral compass and point it in the right direction, kind thoughts, good deeds, much compassion for animals. I do not need religion as a guide for right and wrong. Some religions have everyone looking the same in appearance like orthodox Jews and Muslims for example. In that case what is the point in us being born with all our unique features and personilty traits if are instead to idolize a messiah figure like a rock star and become robot like. This is why there is too much conflict n the world, many people not accepted for their individuality, people not allowed to grow into their full potential, constricted instead. It's a bit sad.

I believe God always looks at the inner beauty, as do many of us. It's pretty easy to spot right off. As far as the world, you may be right. Even my husband will stop to help a pretty stranded motorist much quicker than if it's anyone else! A point I have mentioned and I hope he thinks about it.

As an atheist, I see that as a totally bull**** question. If you want to be beautiful, strive to be beautiful. If not, don't worry about it. Christians believe that God doesn't make mistakes, and he also is the "Almighty Creator", and yet there are such things as genetic birth defects and acne. Go figure.

Dear John Paul,

I am not one for quoting loads of scripture but I believe this particular quote answers your question most excellently:

"Do not judge from his appearance or from his lofty stature, because man sees the appearance but the Lord looks into the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7

It is man who looks upon the outside but God looks upon the heart. God favors people with beautiful hearts. "...for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (1 Sam 16:7.)

God looks on the heart. So he favors beautiful people who are beautiful inwardly...

That's because people favor beautiful people. It has nothing to do with a deity.
However, it is nice to get out of speeding tickets.

NOOOOooo. of corse not. survival of the fittest and evolution are humanistic points of view. God favors anyone who believes in his son 100% and turns their life to him completely.

God doesn't favor beautiful people, man does...(or at least a particular part of a man does...).
