It might, but no one can be sure. People have been making predictions about when the world will end throughout history, even giving exact dates for it, and, so far, they've all had one thing in common - they were all wrong.
The Bible says that only God knows the hour when this world will end. All we need to know is that we are ready for it when it happens.

Of course not. 2012 is simply the year that the long count Mayan calendar resets. People love to make up nonsense about things like that.
