or does the LATEST version have everything the old updates have and even more than the rest of the old updates??????
am i making sensce anyway please help im craving for a ps3 but my dad is cheap.and even thoe i dont have 1 yet is becuase i want a head start and when gta 4 comes out than ill get a ps3 cause ill hav money that time.

You don't have to update the PS3 every time when a PS3 update is avaliable, but it is highly recommended that you do because some games cant be played unless the PS3 is updated to a current update version.
Updating the PS3 is very easy, so there's really not a reason why you shouldn't update it. I've updated mine every time a new update comes avaliable.

The PS3 will let you know when its time to download a new software update...you don't have to worry about what's different about it...it's mostly due to changes in the online PS servers.

When you update your PS3 the first time you download all the latest firmware updates at the same time in one download.

all of the updates are really for new ps2 games, maps, demos, and new content on ps3 online..
