IT looks like some connection or wire is loose, Check your fusebox for a loose fuse.

I had this problem with my 99TJ and we fixed it. You have to take your dashboard (the part with the gages on it) off and turn these connector pieces a little bit. That will fix the connection problem.

It was so long ago (like 6 years) and I know we got the information on how to fix it online but I could not even send you in the right direction on where to get it!!

You could ask this question on the Quadratec bulletin board (which is probably where we got the info) but I don't know if anybody there can help or not (again, cuz I don't remember exactly where the info came from).

I have the same problem with my 97 wrangle. Typically happens after a rain storm so there is some short or loose wire. Usually fixes it self with a good pound on the dash.

Ours does the same ::shrug::
The wiring was too pricey to fix. So we just make sure we keep up with tune-ups and keeping the gas tank full. Restarting the engine is a good quick-fix.
