Hello there brother mark
The tabernacle of David here is the Kingdom of Israel. To rebuild the Tabernacle of David is to restore the Kingdom of Israel.
We see this in Acts 1:6
" So the ones who came together asked Him saying, Lord, are You at this time restoring the Kingdom of Israel?"

So the Kingdom of Israel, for which the apostles and other devout Jews were looking, was a material kingdom, Unlike God's Kingdom of Life, the Kingdom of God which Christ is building up through the preaching of His Gospel.

So for us as the Church today, the Lord has comissioned the church to show that God is not after a materialistic Kingdom that is visible to the human sight but a Kingdom of the Divine Life. It is the spreading of Christ as Life into His believers to form a realm in the hearts of men for God to rule in His life.
We see all these in Mark 4 Mark 1 and Luke 4.

God will restore the nation of Israel.
This will be fulfilled in Matthew 17:11. The Lord prophesied this.
And He answered and saidm Elijah indeed is comng and will restore all things.
This brother will be fulfilled at the time of the Great Tribulation when Elijah will be one of the Two witnesses as prophesied in Mal 4:5-6 and seen in Rev 11:3-4
The other Witness will be Moses.
Moses representing the Law and Elijah the Prophets.

Rev 11:3-4
And I will cause My two witnesses to prophesy a thousand two hundred and sisty days , clothed in sackcloth.

These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands which stand before the Lord of the earth.

Great post

Mishkan David ,the tent of David ,was a poetic way to say the House(Beit or Beth) or Family of David. Jesus was the fulfillment of the prophecy for He was the perfect descendent of David.

The Tabernacle in the church is where the Eucharist concecrated hosts are reserved

The Tabernacle of David was designed by God himself. I think that makes it very special. It was a very awesome Tabernacle. There never was one built so beautiful and awesome before or since. When God designs something it is very special.

Part of that had to do with Herod dissolving the Zadokite priesthood that had served since the days of David. Many people associated the Messiah with the re-establishment of the Zadokite priesthood and the restoration of the Davidic monarchy.
