I'm wiccan and i'm a good person;Nothing i do hurts anyone because i live by the rede. Okay, so the bible says that witchcraft is wrong but it also says masterbation, eating red meat and homosexuality are wrong(the last one being prejudice at it's finest). Why is witchcraft held to be so much worse? Its not just with pagan religions either its with mostly anyone who dosen't worship jesus...i know because i was protestant for 15 freaking years and i began to realize who i really was and that each little part of the christian umbrella (catholic, protestant, lutheran, baptist etc.)feels that they are more worthy than even the other christian religions!
why is this?
I just want insight not a flood of pro-christian answers
your yelling at me won't make me anyless of who i am.
)O(
blessed be!

We are commanded by God to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world in an ethical and intellectual way. Many who "profess" their Christianity do not do this, mainly because they are not "True Christians". You may have been a "Protestant" by name but you were never a "True Christian" in the True Spirit of God or you wouldn't have jumped ship and believed the lie of Satan. You still don't know who you are. You don't even know why you were born or where you are going! You are still LOST!...The apostle Peter boldly proclaimed "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
But there is still hope for you and many like you..... In the 20th chapter of Revelation a resurrection to judgment, in which the books will be opened as the scriptures say It is at this point that all those who have been spiritually blinded will receive an understanding of the Bible and the words of life for the first time: "And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books" (Revelation 20:12).
Yes, those who have suffered from their own sins and those who have been innocent victims of oppression and genocide, will be resurrected to understand the Book of Life. They will have their first real opportunity to understand the Gospel and the love of God the Father for all humanity. As Peter wrote, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
In the White Throne Judgment, billions of atheists, sinners and pagans will finally learn from their past suffering, and will be given the opportunity to truly repent, believe the gospel and eventually inherit the Kingdom of God. Those who are called, faithful and chosen in this age, will rule with Christ in His Kingdom. They will help teach, serve and rule the earth with Christ for 1,000 years. After this "Millenium" comes the resurrection to judgment. Then, finally, the real hell fire—the lake of fire—will consume the incorrigibly wicked. So you see, you think you know what you're doing is right, but you're dead wrong.

Ignoring certain other answers.. I think your a good person, and if you know you are then dont give a damn what other people say! (Come on ten commandments, even christians admit how outdated they can be nowadays?)
I think its great you've made your own choice about what you beleive in, you made choice for yourself so whatever the bible, christians may say that you feel goes aganist you ignore it.. certain groups protest aganist harry potter for displaing witchcraft, got to take some things with a large pinch of salt!
There is alwasy scare tactics involved, all I remember from sunday schools I had to attend when I was young is if you were bad you went to hell... Great insights there.

The bible originally said that poisoning is wrong. Or that cavorting with demons was wrong. Not witchcraft. The king James version changed all that. They Had to have some excuse for burning people alive. THEY ARE AFRAID OF OUR POWER AND THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO CONTROL OR CONVERT US. So, they have to say bad things about us and try to make us feel as bad as they do. If there really is a hell, people like that will be burning right along with the rest of us. So take faith. They are the ones who are wrong and as long as you live your life by the rede, the Gods will bless you and your life.
BRIGHT BLESSINGS
AND DEEP BREATHS, THEY YELL SO LOUD BECAUSE THEY'RE SO VERY SCARED. and here we go. Every one who doesn't believe like you people tell us to is going to hell, blah blah blah, for those fo us who practice witchcraft we'll burn twice, or something like that. Where's your Christian kindness now? Oh we scar3e you people so much, don't we? WELL, BOOO cause we're not going away. You havn't been able to burn us out in the last thousand years and you won't be able to burn us out in the next. Your attitudes show what evil truly is. Now we now how someone like Hitler can get away with what he did.

If you meditate on this, you will find that the bible does tell people to do this, but gives no instruction or teachings on "How to do so".

Which, caused other's to seek out answers from other sources, such as the one you have chosen.

I'm Christian by faith....Nothing more, nothing less.

The Dali Lama, says he believes in Christ, which is a strong message...Coming from a person who they call...His Holyness, He will tell anyone, that he is no better than you or me, just another human on earth.

The main message is....To be kind and loving to others.
If you follow the 10 commandments and do your wiccan thing, you should be just as well as others here on earth.

Even if you don't hear the "Hellfire and brimstone" sermons, the threat of hell is there in every Christian denomination. How many Christians have responded to pagans, Wiccans, witches and heathens that we're going to hell because we're in denial and worshiping Satan?

How many responded just that way to this question?

If they don't snag you with the "loving God" and love of Jesus, then they try to scare you or both into the religion. If they admit that other religions might be viable then they'd have to question their god.

Good query. Hellfire can serve a couple of functions. First, It serves as punishment for unsuitable-doing. Now even as this punishment won't truthfully arise, the worry of punishment is fundamental for a few individuals. If you're a father, you desire to certainly not ought to punish your children, however realistically you do ought to and are inclined to. Now there are a few matters where I have advised my son precisely what punishment will arise if he does unsuitable. For instance, I have advised him that if I uncover out that he drank and drove, the punishment could be extreme in no auto till after prime university, more commonly grounding till then as good, to not point out others. I doubt I will ought to implement this punishment, however it's well for my son to have that worry. The subsequent is an outline of what hell rather is like. We all have had enjoy with hell. Those indignant, sour green with envy individuals who handiest hate, are already of their possess type of hell. So how do you describe this hell? How a lot worse is that this hell with out the frame to stupid our senses? The apt description is everlasting torment when you consider that it final so long as you select hate over love. Now the hell hearth par tof the hell could also be an apt description. Remember that fireplace within the Bible is not just obvious has punishment, but in addition cleaning. The burning away of the impurities. How a lot more suffering will it's to seperate the evil green with envy components of ourselves if we keep onto them with all power. The ultimate of everlasting indicates that we can ought to finally permit move of that facet, when you consider that the fires won't stop till we do. As a scare tactic for becoming a member of the faith or sucking cash, it's rather beautiful deficient. While a few preachers and monks have used hell to that have an impact on. For becoming a member of Christianity, you need to first consider, so how is the worry of hell a motivation for any one that doesn't but even consider in hell? For cash, it's ordinary when you consider that all passages approximately Jesus exhibit a precise loss of care of cash. Anyone within the church who has learn what Jeuss stated, could nto be easliy fooled into giving cash for worry. In reality, so much individuals supply cash to the church for the equal rationale they supply monye to charity. It offers them the hot fuzzy within. Whether or now not that is well motive to supply cash, it's certianly now not worry.

Three things to consider.

1. The word the bible verses in question are referring to don't refer to Wiccans, per se. Wiccans weren't around back then.

2. If you aren't Christian, why should it matter what it says?

3. Banning other religions and making their practices punishable by death reduces the competition.

Catholics and mainstream protestants make up 90% of all christians globally and I have yet to hear a fire & brimstone sermon or lecture from anyone other than a fundie - a very small but vocal minority. Ask yourself how many catholics, lutherans, episcopalians or presbyterians have ever used scare tactics on you. As to your generalizations about the various dnominations, they don't correspond to my experience and i don't see how it is even relevant to your being a wiccan.

First off Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy are the only ones following the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles to the fullest. A quick look at early 1st, 2nd, and 3rd century Christian writings would prove this.
As for witchcraft, it is defined as an any act meant to gain power or dominion over anyone or thing through the conjuring of demons or spirits.

If this is what Wiccans do then maybe they should be burned.

As for Christians persecuting unbelievers that is not authentic Christianity that's human sin. Anyone who is in charge tends to want to stay in charge and Wicca and paganism is something foreign and threatening.

Whats happening to you is nothing WORSE than when the pagan Romans threw Christians to the lions in the Colosseum.

When this starts happening to your people then you have room to *****.
