by Christianese I mean saying all those stereotypical Christian words: righteousness, justification, atonement etc. Just explain it simply, pretend I was in 5th grade or something.

The Gospel so that a 5th-grader can understand it...

The God of Heaven Created all Mankind. But if we break any of God's Laws, then we have sinned against God the Father and deserve Death. The problem is that we can't stop sinning on our own. To fix our problem, and because God the Father loved us so much, He allowed His Son to come and to pay the price for All Sin -- which is Death. After God's Son died, He rose from the grave and went back to Heaven to make a place for us because He wants us all to be with Him. But, He won't force anyone to go to Heaven that doesn't want to. He gives us the choice. So, if we decide we don't want to be sinners anymore, and if we will accept His Death as our death and accept His Life as our life, then He will forgive all our sins, fill us with the Holy Spirit, and make us His brothers and sisters to live with Him forever.

God bless.

Some people just don't do sensitive and subtle - it's wasted on them! There really are times when some people need to be shaken very hard and shouted at (spiritually speaking, that is.) The trouble is, Christians cannot read hearts, and we could make a horrible mistake and spiritually shout at the wrong person, or at the wrong time. Jesus never made that mistake because He could read hearts. Yet the comforting fact is that if we "speak the truth in love" and we're always ready to give a reason for the hope in us, doing so with respect, (as the Bible instructs) then the Holy Spirit will apply the truth to the individual concerned. Perhaps the real problem today is that many Christians go all round the houses instead of stating the gospel straight and simple. There is such a peally-wally version of 'the gospel' that is really no gospel at all - it will achieve no spiritual good for anybody. To call sin sin, to declare the vital need for repentance, to warn of the eternal lostness of those who pay no heed to either, to insist that only faith in Christ will save anyone - that is like going for the jugular. Yet it is 'only' the gospel! Why are so few Christians telling it like it is? Why are they tiptoeing around the periphery all the time? Give me strength! Give me the old, old story! Give me the grace of God to proclaim liberty to the captives, and pass me a battering-ram while you're at it!

You know, Christians. I think Jesus did a few more things in the gospels other than die on the cross and be resurrected. He had a few things to say about organized religion, for one.

This is all to say that the gospels can’t be summed up into a neat little doctrinal package. Sure, there’s plenty of theology in there to argue about. But all in all, there are some great stories in there too. Why not do something crazy and read them?

The gospel (good news) would be like you having broken many capital laws continuously in your neighborhood and were being sentenced to death because you weren't fit to live among other people.....then a person came forward to the court and said that they had done all the evil that you had done and told the judge that they would take the punishment instead of you.

That is the really good news of what the Christ did for you. Rejecting Him is like telling the judge that you don't feel you did anything so bad.

The Gospel, as I see it, is the fact that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to be born of a virgin, grow up until the age of 12 , when He started talking to people about the Way to be saved, and the difference between relating to God through the Old Testament Law and relating to Him by faith. Faith comes when you believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, and that he died on the cross , in our place, so we could have eternal life in Heaven with God. When you trust in God's Word, accept His Son Jesus Christ into your heart as your personal Savior, ask for forgiveness upon repenting of your sins, and are baptized in obedience to Christ's wishes, you are saved, and thus have your name written in the Book of Life, and upon your death, or rapture(which ever comes first), you will be with the Father forever in Heaven.

The Old Testament contains many predictions, or prophecies, concerning Christ. The New Testament tells of His coming as a redeemer. Christ is concealed in the Old Testament and revealed in the New Testament.

The Bible is the record of the world from the beginning of time (that is creation) until the future end. Genesis tells of the creation of the world, the entrance of sin, the flood, and the beginning of the nation of Israel. From Exodus to Esther we have the history of Israel up to about 400 years before the birth of Christ. The books from Job to the Song of Solomon contain wonderful poetry and wisdom. The rest of the Old Testament, from Isaiah to Malachi, is prophetic; that is, these books contain messages from God to Israel concerning its present condition and its future destiny.

The New Testament opens with four Gospels, which present the life of the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts tells the story of Christianity in its infancy. It reveals the beginning of the Church and gives personal testimonies of encounters with the Gospel of Jesus Christ including the great apostle Paul’s conversion. From Romans to Jude, we find letters to churches and individuals, concerning the great truths of the Christian faith, and practical instruction concerning the Christian life. Revelation gives us a glimpse into the future, to events that will yet take place in heaven, on earth, and in hell.

When Adam and Eve took the fruit from the tree of knowledge in the garden they sinned. Since Adam was the representative of the human race, his sin was passed down to each man and woman. We call that inherited sin. God being a holy God could not allow sin in His kingdom. He couldn't just ignore it or forget it, since He was holy He had to provide a means of forgiveness. This He did by sending His Son to die on the cross. Jesus became the second Adam and took the sins of the world upon Himself. In order for us to be forgiven, we have to admit our sin, turn from it, and accept Jesus as our redeemer. Forgiveness is not automatic. We must ask for it.

God made man. Man disobeyed God. God has a punishment for disobeying, it is death. ( They would have lived forever if they had not disobeyed God) They had Children and because the parents disobeyed, so did the children. God saw and felt sorry for them (Because He loves them) and sent His own son to earth. God's Son was the only one who could live on this earth and not disobey God because He is perfect. Since Jesus (God's son) did not disobey God, he did not deserve the punishment for disobeying. Jesus accepted the punishment anyway so that those who want, can live forever. Jesus died, even though he didn't need to, so that he could pay for our disobedience.

Jesus gives that as a gift to you. All you have to do is take it and love God because He loved you. If you love God, you will want to obey Him. It does not mean we always do, because we are not perfect and are surrounded by others who disobey.... but we try because we love him.

God is in the position of highest authority, of the highest good, and is therefore a being of the highest personal honor.
All sin and evil are therefore an insult to the honor of God, a disregard of His rule and authority and an honor offense.
Any who commit sin/evil, therefore, are degrading God's honor and status. Because this honor rightly belongs to God, it must be restored.
God's proper response is to require the shaming and punishment of those who degrade His honor.
Jesus Christ underwent the crucifixion, a "status degradation ritual," in our place.
As a corollary, one who accepts the payment offered by Jesus ought, sensibly, to be aware of this price that has been paid and respond accordingly. One who does not respond accordingly, we may suggest, is not appreciative of the paid price and may not truly have accepted the gift.

When Jesus was crucified, he underwent the most shameful treatment a person could have had in that time and place. But because he was deity, his own honor value was as high as God's. And so he paid the only price that would satisfy an "honor insult" to the God who was of greatest honor -- giving up his own greatest honor for our sake, and being "shamed" in our place.

Jesus, who is God the Father's son, died on a cross because he was the only one who had no sin and would be a sacrafice for payment of all the worlds sin from the beginning of the world to the end of the world. There is no person ever on earth that had no sin, so Jesus, who is God the son decided to come to earth to do this. 3 days after he died, he came to life again in his same body and he defeated death. Originally, God made us to live forever. When the Devil got Eve and then Adam to disobey God, sin came into the world. The punishment for the sin was that everyone would have to experience death on earth. The good news is that when you die on earth, you go to God to live for ever if you prayed to God and asked Jesus to forgive your sins and stay in your life for ever. Everyone gets the chance to do this because God loves everyone very much. Some people make a choice not to do it because they do not like God or do not believe he is real. Those that never do this are seperated from God forever when they die on earth. They will live forever to, but they will live the same place that the bad angels get punished to and that the Devil gets punished to. In that place there is sadness and things that are not fun and probably hurt. All people on earth have to do is ask Jesus to forgive them for sinning and to stay in their hearts with them and they would not have to suffer by being apart from God and getting punishment. God doesn't want any of the people he created to have to go through that, so that is why Jesus came and died and came back to life, so that we have a way to stay with him forever.
