air assult is mostly helio based, and use slightly different tactics because of using helios. fast roping ect. Airborne is cargo plane based. I think air assult would be more for an affenisve tactical strike in addition to troops on the ground, were airborne is usually a mass tactical surge of troops to one key location usually a suprise attack durning night or weather. other than that, i don't know but it's a great question, i'm sure u'll get awesome answers and i look forward to reading them as well. Air assult would have to meet there equipment i would think, where airborne rigg there equipment to jump with it. They are self reliant and drop all they need on there drop zone and jump in after it.

Airborne means they have wings, i,e jump qualifications and can parachute out of planes, air assault can be troops without "wings" i.e ferried into action by chopper or plane and landed not having to jump.
