yes music is a great hobby, and an acoustic is the way to go when learning how to play a guitar, its easier for the person to hear how accurate each note/chord is when you play it and also easier on the ears of others living in the House with you, as most people know that you will need to practice each day, and how good you get directly depends on how much you practice, and also how much talent you have, and many good guitarists are self taught, but that doesn't mean that they dont take advice/tips from others....good luck

Squire is the worst guitar manufacturer Fender owns, why they placed there title on the ones abominations you may handiest bet, additionally they possess Charvel,Guild, Gretsch and Jackson, however as a newbie I would not advocate forking over that style of dough for whatever he would possibly lose curiosity in, good probably the Jackson, however I'd nonetheless pass with an Ibanez or an Epiphone within the $2 hundred variety, that is approximately the proper quantity to spend for an access degree guitar, additionally would possibly desire to stay with an acoustic for now

Learning to play a musical instrument is always a good idea. I taught myself how to play and it was one of the best things I ever did. Unlike people who just play guitar hero, you will develop a REAL talent. So good for you!!!

FYI...

You can't have long finger nails.

When you first start learning your fingers will be sore from pressing on the strings.

You will develop callouses on the tips of your fingers from pressing on the strings.

It is definitely a very rewarding thing to learn to do.

Go for it!

If the Jonas Brothers are your influence and inspiration, then you shouldn't even play.
