Payroll certification?

I have been doing payroll for 6yrs now. Will getting a certification increase my value when looking for a higher paying job?

If you have a fair knowledge in accounting, and like dealing with numbers, I would go for CPA.

And I think some certification is always better than none, that is something on your resume that maybe no other applicants have, and that would make you stand out from the crowd.
