Well..class would be to not hurt them and not get hurt and to let things lie. You don't have to hurt others to feel fine about yourself.
Wit....wit depends on your intentions..if you are looking to have a clever stab at him, then um...I think I would rather not help..I'm sorry..I have a thing about that..both ways, not just to boys.
If you want the way that you could answer it, simply,
"Oh, okay, maybe next time, huh?" and a smile.
That keeps it open for another time, and not an eternal turn down (boys often can over think things...)
If they were mean about it then don't get hurt, and don't leave it open for them to ask you, if that is what you want.

I'm not a guy, but so far I think most have misunderstood your question.
The classiest response I have for that kind of reaction...
if I want to remain friends: "Hey that's cool, I don't want to wreck our friendship either" smile, wink and ask him about something random. He'll appreciate the lack of awkwardness.
if I think he's a jerk: "Oh ok, I just thought you could use a little company, you seem so lonely." smile, wink and walk away.

What's with the 'Guys only please' I don't think so! So I am a girl...your turned me down. I'll live. She must have thought you were a nice person she would want to know more about. Now she knows.
