My mother, who has no expeience in the field, insists that it matters if I have a Bachelor's V.S. an Associate degree in Radiology. Is there a pay increase for a Bachelor's degree? Also, how do you get certified to be a MRI Technologist?

No, it doesn't matter. You get paid the same whether you have a certificate, associates, or bachelors. An employer just wants you to be registered - they don't care how you got there. In radiology, a bachelors is only necessary if you want to go into management. You can make more money by training in more modalities, like MRI, CT, mammography, or interventional radiology.

After you become a registered rad tech, you can learn MRI on the job, and study to take the registry for that. There are also a few schools for MRI - for example, Beaumont Hospital in southeast Michigan has a 1 year program for registered radiologic technologists - 6 months for MRI and 6 months for CT.

Bachelor's degrees generally net more of a salary in any career field. More schooling = more knowledge = better qualified for the job.
