I love it when religionists claim to accept "micro-evolution" but then try limit the process of evolution by claiming an invisible "macro" boundry exists. You have to wonder if they just cant do the math.

Where did this whole crazy idea of bounded evolution come from? Heres my theory...somewhere in a rural area. You see, many farmers are well aquainted with the reality of evolution. Massive grain bins are constantly under assualt by insects. Problem is, insecticides that once killed them off, no longer work, because insects in the area, through evolutionary processes, have breed new generations of chemical resistant bugs.

So when biologists explain why the insecticides are failing, the locals have the problem of evolution reality coming face to face with their false religion. Presto...we get the imaginary macro-evolutionary boundry.

That particular schtick comes from the fact that they don't have any idea what "species" are.

Imagine that you really believed that it's possible for organisms to change characteristics over generations through the normal evolutionary processes (what the creationist calls "microevolution"). Imagine that population of dinosaurs changed their characteristics over generations, losing scales, acquiring feathers, and hollow bones, and beaks, until the descendants of the original organisms look like what we call "Sandhill Cranes". All of this through a process of "microevolution", mind you.

Now, if you're a creationist who takes that "micro/macro" thing seriously, you've got to say "Look! There's a bunch of dinosaurs that look just like Sandhill Cranes out in that farmer's field!".

If you're a normal, sane person, you get to say "Look at the Sandhill Cranes".
-----------------
Now let's suppose instead that you're a creationist and you frantically want to deny what I just said about your beliefs. You'll come here and say "No-one has ever seen one species turn into another! No-one ever saw dinosaurs turn into Sandhill Cranes! You can have change within a species, but never from one species to another!".

So what you're saying is that you believe that there are evolutionary processes that can change the characteristics of a population of animals over time, but the moment those changes are about to become the kinds of things that cause us to refer to the new organisms as a new species, something magically looks into our heads and says "Whoa there! Those biologist fellahs are going to call this a different species if we let those ol' scales look any more feathery! Better stop evolving right here before we've got something they call a new species!".

Boy, I'm sure glad I don't have to defend creationism. That's silly beyond belief.

No all the creationists are doing is playing be conscious video games by ability of fiddling with the definitions. I nevertheless don't comprehend what's meant by ability of linking the words transitional and species. while it improve into first used it improve into in connection with feathered dinosaur fossil because of the fact they appropriate different genera. Now it style of feels like the creationists are attempting to make it mean species crossing border strains between species. it is an for sure stupid theory. How can a separate species no longer be a separate species. in the event that they're asking approximately hybrids then the international is full of examples. kinds and races of species abound. while they hit the element that they do no longer breed jointly anymore then that's a clean species by ability of definition. are you able to call a Quince a transitional species between apples and pears. Quince can fertilize apples, pears can fertilize quince. yet quince in uncomplicated terms produce seed notwithstanding if that's a quince quince mating. sure macro-evolution is genuine, sure it is confirmed. All you ought to do is look in a seed catalog. we've quite some better half and toddlers species that have diverged adequate from the be sure inventory to no longer be waiting to reproduce returned to it and others that diverged adequate that once the be sure inventory died out they won't be crossed to recuperate it. this might properly be a uncomplicated situation for orchard operators. in uncomplicated terms particular kinds of apple fertilize one yet another. now and returned the only genuine reason they're separate species is they flower at different circumstances. Sorry that this submit is so previous due.

A lot of people left Europe for the USA to escape religious persecution in past centuries, their descendants come up with theories like this one so they can keep kidding themselves that religion is the truth

This type of question is interesting because it shows how strong Christian fundamentalism is in the USA.

They are just trying to slow the scientific land loss they have been suffering since the dark ages. They are just half way through accepting they are wrong about evolution. Soon they will have to accept that things evolve, just like they had to accept that the earth is round and headaches are not caused by demons.

'Micro evolution' is defined as that biological process which creationists, when forced against a wall by actual demonstration, are reluctantly prepared to acknowledge the existence of.

Just don't ask them to extrapolate this to anything more complex, as this causes them to suffer CPU meltdown.

Maybe it is you who can't do the math. Even Richard Dawkins in his book, "The God Delusion" spends some time explaining that when someone believes something the burden of proof lies with the person believing it to prove it, not with the person who does not believe it.You can prove something exists, but you can't prove it does not. So, wherre is your proof of "macro evolution"???? You can theorize all you want, but according to you (evolutionists) you need to produce the evidence, and it just isn't there.

Bad at math, and experts at desperation.

Creationists are a funny minority. Too loud, though.
