Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. It's where the good guys ended up in the Shawshank Redemption. It's an old-fashioned tourist town on the Pacific coast, that used to cater exclusively to the middle class from Mexico City. It's fun, there are lots of restaurants, lots of shopping. Not so much for beaches, but you can take a taxi up to Troncones for just a couple dollars if you want. (Watch out for jellyfish!). We stayed at the Hotel Irma, which is old, but it was OK by me.

The Bahamas, last year instead of doing Christmas presents,
our family all went to the Bahamas, it was lovely, someone else had posted the Bahamas here and mentioned the Atlantis hotel, that is one hotel to see, they have a special group of rooms that rent for something like 100,000 dollars a night and you have to reserve them for two weeks, they are booked for quite a few years, of course we didn't stay there, sigh, sigh. There were a lot of nice restaurants and shops and clubs all around
So to have the family there was quite a treat.

Hawaii. We went in January when it was cold here but beautiful there. They have the most beautiful beaches in the world there; red sand, green sand, white sand and even black sand beaches!
