Im planning on giving my 50lb. Shepherd/Lab mix a bath tonight in the bathtub. I need some advice on how to do this while making the least possible mess. She likes baths, so she won't struggle or anything.
Thanks

Put a rubber mat on the bottom of the bath so she doesn't slip. and you'll be fine.

Put some towels on the floor to soak up any spills. Put doggie in the tub as you are running the water. Use a pail or a dishpan to pour the rinse water. And have fun. Since the dog likes baths, it should be a piece o'cake.

I have my dog on a routine. I have prepared the Towel, shampoo and ear wipes. I give him a treat and command " take a bath" and he jumps into the tub. I just make sure to close the bathroom door so he won't make a run after wards and cause a wet mess. Then Just make sure you rinse off all soap and towel dry.

Sorry love but i can't see your problem? You've said she likes having baths and won't struggle or anything so what is your dilema? Its inevitable there'll be mess - she weighs 50 pounds ha ha so all you can do is put plenty of old clean towels on the floor and get it over with as quickly as possible! Good luck.

Before I got my grooming tub, I bathed my large dogs in my bathtub. After awhile, your dog will learn to get in and out of the tub by himself. Make sure you have a hand held sprayer attached to the faucet or shower head, soak him, bathe him, rinse him, then towel dry him while he's still in the tub. (Be careful not to get water in his ears or shampoo in his eyes.) Then put a large towel on the floor and let him stand on that so you can dry his feet. You can then dry him with a dryer (not on hot) or invest in a dog dryer.

Like I said to other askers, I gotta go in a second but this should be a short one...
if she won't struggle or anything, what's the worry?? Just be sure to have a couple towels ready and maybe someone to help you just in case you think you may need it.

get your dog in the bath tub, alot of towels to dry yourself off and to dry the dog of course...use a good smelling, conditioning dog shampoo, not human shampoo or dish washig soap, this will dry the skin out........
