first of all, everyone here has made it PRETTY obvious that they beleive what they beleive and dont want that to be changed.
so lets not try to dumb everyone's belief's down and piss everyone off, okay?
secondly, this is the INTERNET.
saying that someone's faith is stupid is pretty... stupid.
someone is just going to get mad. if you hate all other religions that bad, then dont go on R&S Q&A's of Y!A's.

No, I don't believe there is a need for religion bashing. After all this the twenty 21st century. Multiculturalism is around us so people need to be more sensitive to different religions and beliefs, we can not assume that there are wrong or right ones. We need to be more open and understanding without prejudice. Different religions have been around us for a very long time one would think that the majority of people would accept that without having to insult or discriminate against a different religion.

You are quite right about religion being a topic that seems to bring the worst out in everyone.
Personally I don't believe in religion at all, and don't have a problem with others religions, I only wish that they would not try to ram it down my throat. The strange thing with that is that people get really mad because I say I don't believe in religion and I usually always end up with several thumbs down simply because I don't have or believe in religion.
You are also right that no one is going to change their views simply because someone posts an answer or question stating that they should.
I also usually only answer questions in the religion section when I am feeling like getting a few peoples backs up as it is amazing how angry people get just by saying you don't believe. I find that amusing as I am not saying that they should follow suit with my views but they obviously believe that I should follow theirs. Strange!

I'm glad I missed whatever that was about. Any kind of bashing is bad. The only argument that supports it is the anthropological one (that those different from us are some how dangerous), but even that's based on primal drives and evolution. That logic speaks for itself, because if we don't learn to control those things (and we haven't, we're still a tribal society bashing other tribal societies) we'll be extinct soon.

Religion should be challenged as often as as energetically as possible. It is a hindrance to the search for truth and a deplorable means to justify hate and loathing. The sooner religion vanishes from the earth, the quicker rational behavior becomes prevalent. Standing by idly while religion continues to brainwash the gullible is not an acceptable posture.

I want to piss of members of the Middle-Eastern religions (christianity, islam, judaism, but not so much judaism) because they regularly piss me off. Christians as a whole are terrible people, and try to tell me that im living life the wrong way, but Jesus still loves me. Muslims are too aggressive, the core of their religion is alot better then Christianity, but the few muslims who decide to kill people just ruin any possiblity of me trusting them. Jews dont piss me off as much, only Israelis... Who think they are entitled to a city just because of some event that supposedly happened thousands of years ago. Israeli lobbysit are also very manipulative of the US government and coerce our leaders into starting wars.
In short: im just returning the favor, i troll R&S, you troll the world.

Try not to get mad and simply pass along in your answers what you see as the strongest points in your own religion and whatever you see as the strongest ones in other religions. This will inform both the ones that are ignorant because of choice and the ones who are because of fear.

yea i agree with you 100%
it becomes eye for and eye when ppl post hateful remarks relating to religion or religious people. ALOT if not most of the time, the stuff is usually fake and copied from another hate site. Its not good to throw mud on other religions cuz the other person can get easily provoked

Oh but it gives us all something to argue about. And lets face it, religion is always going to be a controversial subject because there are always those that disagree. It does not make it okay though.

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
It's all organized religion that needs bashing.
