now burning a cd or a dvd with nero takes a lot of time ...i used to burn a cd in 4 minutes and a dvd in 7 or 8 minutes...now it takes 40 minutes to do the same with a dvd or a cd...

i tried to do a simulation to see the maximum speed...at the end there's this message...

" can only write at 24X instead of 48X . Speed of source data is too slow "

what the hell does that mean ...any ideas ...i really need help ...;-(

It means that your harddisk is moving the needed data too slow to Nero. Delete all unneeded files and do a defrac, if thios does not help, you have a real problem!

This means the file that you are burning isn't being pushed to Nero fast enough to go at 48X. Is the file on your hard drive? Make sure you don't have any programs/viruses/other malware that are slowing down your computer. Is the file on another computer over the network? Unless you have Gigabit Ethernet, you are probably going as fast as your home network will allow.

Good luck!

where is you source data came from which is the file that you are burning. If you copy from CD to CD some CD rom are low speed and even the burning CD or DVD rom are faster, it can only write in the same max speed as the other ROM.

That happened to me (Nero v6.0) one time, too. After that I just quit trying to use the top speed, or even do sims. I just manually check "24x" and I haven't had any problems with it running too slow, since.

Your drive or discs only support a slow burning speed. Get better discs. If that fails, get a better drive.
