Don't have sex, yet. I think that's a no-brainer. But seriously, talk about whatever you want. If the guy's too silent, that means he has tiny balls, metaphorically speaking.

Deep breaths..Explain that you know you are both nervous and ask if you can just take the converstaion slowly....If it goes silent..Dont worry..Its not the end of the world..Silence is good sometimes.!!! Just try to be yourself and dont over focus anything and dont over ananlyse things either. Its obvious he likes you and you do him as your signs of silence and babbling are a dead give away!!! Its really sweet.
Try the above.... Why not sit and look at the stars if its a nice night???
Good luck XXX

Babbling can be cute. Give him a chance to call you first. While you're waiting, there's always his myspace or facebook. IF you get impatient, don't call during odd hours. A girl called me once at 8AM, knowing well that I had a night class the day before. That's a deal breaker. BEST OF LUCK!!!

Just take a deep breath. Be confident and try to make some jokes when silent moments come up, then maybe he'll see that theres nothing to be nervous about and maybe then he will start to relax and the date will go smooth. Good luck!

Don't worry about silences. Sometimes these are better than anything.
But try to come up with questions that will get him talking. Ask about family, interests, etc.... Hopefully this will get you both talking!
Good luck!

I think being yourself is very important. He's nervous because he doesn't really know you. Talk about yourself a little then ask him some questions about himself so he can get to know you better, but you him as well.

Go on a date some were like the cinemas so those 'akward scilences' are less noticable. And there is no need to talk at the cinemas. :P

Find a subject that u and him both like and could talk hours on and on about, and find out the basic facts about him, like what's his fave band? Or fave sport? etc.

Just find something that you both have in common and start out on that. Normally, (if you are both interested in each other), things will continue from that. Good luck!
