Hi
I post an add for a maltese pup on Kijiji. I had someone response to me which her email is peternlisa" She said that the puppy will be shipped from Victoia Cameroon and she would want me to western union half the money and they I pay for the remaining balance when the puppy gets here. Is this a scam? Please let me know if there is another way to approach her about paying for the puppy after I received her to see how she would response. This person seems very nice and seems like a person you can trust. thank you

Don't fall for it, it sounds like the scams I get in my email every day. find someone who will let you pick up the puppy in person. Or if you want a pup from a little farther away, purchase a plane ticket for yourself, and fly in to pick it up in person, exchanging $$ then. Some airlines will not charge you extra for the pup if it is small enough to fit in a carrier under your seat or in your lap, so it isn't that much more expensive than buying a ticket for the puppy to be shipped to you.

SCAM!! The majority of the puppy scams on the internet involve payment through Western Union. Then they tell you it'll cost more for the puppy to be shipping, you pay more, and no dog ever arrives. Look for a puppy in which YOU can go get it yourself.

The bad thing about buying online is people can't trust eachother. From her side of it, if it is legit, is she wants to be paid for her puppy as she doesn't know you at all, and doesn't want to be cheated out of her money for her puppy, as some people who request the dog first will get the puppy and disappear. Not good. From your side of it, you want to not be scammed out of your money and want to make sure the puppy you are getting is quality-bred. Best bet is to buy from your area, that way you can know the breeder, and they have a physical address that you can track down should something go wrong and you can meet your puppy in person, so you know the puppy is healthy and it's the right breed AND that it even EXISTS. Buy local, save your money.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!! You won't ever get the puppy and you won't be able to track the money order once it is picked up with any chance of recovering your loss. Be careful and don't buy over the internet, even though they aren't all scams it's better safe than sorry.

Yes it is, do not send any money.......you need to see the pup in person and have pup and registration papers before you buy a dog......sometimes if coming from overseas you cant do that. but at least make sure it is a reputable breeder with a real place to live...
