It's a religion of violence, not of peace. Now Islam...well that is obviously one of peace. Is it any wonder that the monkey is confused?

They are saying if "everyone" followed Jesus yes there would be peace which is in God's perfect will for mankind, but the fact is that Jesus knew not everyone was going to follow him and the ones that would follow him were stood the chance of being persecuted. Not only that but as a result of Jesus visit to earth, some children would be against their parents and a man's enemy would be even with those in his household. This is because some who followed Jesus Christ would be hated by family members. This is part of the cost of being a disciple, for love of family should not be greater than love for the Lord. A true disciple must face not only family hatred but also death. We don't have to fear because giving up ones life for Jesus will not be a loss but we shall find life. See Matthew 16:25. It is important to know that those who receive Jesus Christ will find peace though they themselves be persecuted.

Because it's true. If everyone followed Jesus, there would be no fighting. When Jesus spoke those words - way back in the day - He was speaking the truth. He knew that there was no way in fiery hell that everybody was gonna follow Him! I'm not sure, but I get the sense that the sword He was speaking of was a figurative sword ... He brought the Word with Him, which literally acted as a sword. His Word divided religions, and the more people resisted it, the more bloodshed there was. He paid the ultimate price for it ... a sword pierced His flesh as He hung dying on the cross. And, many of His disciples were cut down by the sword ... those who survived the stonings and the crucifixions!

There is a difference between the p u r p o s e of Jesus Christ's coming to earth and the r e s u l t of it. Jesus'
d e s i g n was to bring peace - peace with God for unbelievers ( Rom 5:1 ) and eventually, the peace of God for believers ( Phil 2:7 ).
However, the immediate consequence of Christ's coming was divide those who were for Him and those who were against Him - the children of God from the children of this world. But, just as the g o a l of an amputation is to relieve pain, so the immediate e f f e c t is to inflict pain. Likewise, Christ's ultimate mission is to bring p e a c e , bot to human heart and to earth. Nonetheless, the immediate effect of His message was to divide those in the kingdom of God from those in he kingdom of Satan.

In the text in Matthew, Jesus was referring to the fact that households would be divided because some would have faith in him, while others would not, almost inevitably leading to disagreements, as he went on to say that he would set a son against his own father, and a daughter-in-law against her mother. The text in Luke says a similar thing.
Jesus had this to say about peace, in John 16:33 Phillips Translation:
I have told you all this so that you may find your peace in me. You will find trouble in the world - but, never lose heart, I have conquered the world!"
Phillippians 4:7 promises peace to all those who put their faith in God and his Son.
Don't worry over anything whatever; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the peace of God which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, the peace that Jesus talks about comes from a recognition of our need for a relationship with him and his father. If everyone had that, there would be peace.

To top it off, the whole world will never follow Jesus. God prepares the hearts of His chosen ones whom He knows will follow Him.
The peace He said He brought is "not as the world gives". His peace transcends worldly peace. His peace is available in the midst of turmoil and war. He told us that there would always be troubles in this world. So, this makes sense that His peace has nothing to do with civil, national or political peace.

I'm not sure what you're actually looking for with this question; Is it an answer you seek or a debate to start? What I do know is that He gave to me His peace and not the peace that this world offers. Blessings.

that sword is the word of God, it just means there will be divsions among people because of his word. you can see that, can't you? no one, or almost no one want's to hear what he says, especially if it means they should limit foolishness. it doesn't mean he didn't want literal peace here because one of the fruits of Gods holy spirit is peace.
love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,” and similar qualities was proof positive that God’s spirit was operating in and among them. (Ga 5:22, 23)

Yeah right... because it's unheard of for two Christians to fight each other?
Christians have killed other Christians. It happens every single day!
This claim is totally bogus.
