was told that if a AKC b***h becomes pregnate by a mutt that future litters would not be considered AKC. If so why?

Well you were told a old wives tale. if a dam with AKC registration did get pregnant by a mutt. They she will have mutts as pups. This litter cant be registered.

If she is bred at another time to a dog of her same breed than the pups will be pure bred pups and they can be AKC registered only if the sire is also ACK registered. .

The kittens from the mix-breed would not be AKC because the kittens' bloodline is not from both AKC parents.

However, even if the AKC cat had such a litter, the AKC cat should still be AKC and if it later mated with another AKC cat of the same breed later those kittens would be AKC.

This is like a logic puzzle.

Yeah...that is just stupid. If you had a child with someone of another race, and then became pregnant with a child from a guy of the same race, would it still be mixed??

Each pregnancy starts fresh.

And any litter can ONLY be AKC if BOTH parents are AKC registered.

Wrong, unless the mutt is the father of every litter. I'm not sure why that would make sense. She's still purebred, it's just that one litter that isn't going to be, unless this 'mutt' gets to her in the future (keep in mind, a litter can have more than one father, so even if she's bred to a purebred, and then this 'mutt' gets to her, THOSE puppies wouldn't be acceptable either).

Maybe they intended to say that the offspring are not AKC registerable. The mother dog still has her AKC papers and they're hers till she dies.

I've heard the same thing but don't know why. You need to contact the AKC.

If you have to ask this question, you shouldn't be breeding animals.

And it's pregnant, not pregnate.

HUH? That doesn't sound right. I guess you better keep a better eye on her next time she comes in heat or get her spayed.
