A Romance language is one that descends from Latin. There are many: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_languages

The major ones are: Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and Romanian.

Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian come from Vulgar Latin, whereas Romanian comes from Classical Latin.

Don't forget that other languages that come from the above list are also romance languages:
french-based creoles, provencal, catalan, various italian dialects etc...
So, there are many romance languages...
