It is not ignorance. It is hatred and bigotry that blinds them to the truth.

Just a guess here, but maybe they are not Catholic. Maybe they aren't even of a Christian faith. How well versed are you in Wicca? Most people understand what they have been taught and if they didn't grow up in Catholicism then why would they be knowledgeable about it? amost people are ignorant of religions that aren't there own. Wow I think maybe I get your point now. Didn't realize there was so much hatred and ignorance for Catholics from so many other Christian denominations. Sorry.

This country was built on freedom of religion which allows for so many to be practiced. If you are raised different from catholic there would hardly be a reason for you to have any information about it. I live in a small southern town and there are no catholic churches or followers for 100 miles. I for one respect all religions regardless of my on beliefs. I am grateful that in this day and age most people choose to believe in something of a higher power. Alot of people however are negative about things they don't know about.

Do you mean Catholics that are ignorant about there faith? Because they are discouraged from thinking for themselves and are told that the Pope is infallible so they cannot question his teachings.
If you are talking about non-Catholics, some people are ignorant about it and others aren't. I have studied enough about it to know that they teach a false doctrine of works, add to God's Word, are guilty of idolatry, and put tradition above God's word. So, I may be one that you think is ignorant becasue I don't agree with the Catholic Church's teachings.

Sheer numbers of Catholics means people ignorant of Catholic faith; nobody who was educated about it would believe that stuff.

It's a uniquely American phenomenon that people don't feel the need to be well informed about anything.
People who say they went to a Catholic service and couldn't make any sense of it must not be members of any major Christian denomination because I can tell you there is very little difference between a Catholic mass and practically every major denomination's services.

I gave my my life to Jesus Christ through Christianity. and that is the only true way!
Catholics drink, they party, there have been so many stories about priests having sex, or molesting young girls.
It is not right to go out and drink wine, and alsoholic beverages, bc God said it wasn;t right. It is not right to have some sort of thing called confession, in which you go and confess your sins to another 'human', when they're just as much of a sinner as you and I. This is not right.
What is the point in confessing your sins if you're going to go out and sin again. This is losing your salvation.
Anyone that gets saved and gives their life to Jesus Chirst and repents of their sins that goes back to what they used to do is capable of losing their Salvation. Which means losing their place for them in heaven.
What ignorance do you speak of, because, I'M not ignorant, I'm with God, the only right way to be. Also, there is a such thing as not sinning and going back to the way you used to be. People just simply do not care! They simply pick and choose the things that they want to believe out the bible. You're either against God or with him. Meaning you either you live by the bible, or you don't. You can't do half and half, it doesnt work that way.

Perhaps they weren't raised as Catholics, I'm guessing. I can't blame anyone for not wanting to find out more about Catholicism with all the media attention put on the priests that have been found guilty in so many US Courts of Law for child molestation.

I think that IGNORANT are the catholic people that don´t know their doctrines e and even less the Bible. Because one is against the other (Doctrine and Bible).
Read the Bible and see what it says about idolatry, purgatory (this not even exists on Bible), Heavens Queen, mediation between God and men, prayer to the dead, forgiveness by confession to a man, etc...

Do you know everything about Sikhism? Do you know all about Native spirituality? are you ignorant towards spiritualism?
maybe you just are biased since it's your own faith? It's easy not to be ignorant about something you grew up in...

Care to expand?
I have a good knowledge, having spent the entire of my youth raised in the faith.
I find it odd now, looking in, but still a wonderful set of rituals.
Please do expand your question though.
