Has anyone ever been arrested for wearing baggy jeans?
If so what did they charge you with?
Did the lock you up and for how long?
Did you have to go to court or what was the fine?
What state was it?

I suppose it depends on HOW baggy - if they are down around your knees (or ankles), then the charge would be INDECENT EXPOSURE ;);););)

What would the charge be? Crimes against fashion?

Seriously, though, being arrested for wearing baggy jeans? Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. How any law enforcement officer could justify arresting somebody purely because the type of pants they are wearing is beyond me (unless, of course, the pants expose 'things' that should not be exposed in public).

In Louisiana, if your pants are sagging too low there is fine. The first offense is a $250 fine, second offense is another fine or jail time and any offense after that is jail time. It has finally become an ordinance and they have a statute for it but I cannot remember off hand.

There is no crime against wearing baggy clothing. However, if your in school, they might have a dress code you have to follow. If you break it you can get in trouble at school, but not by the police.

I dont think you can be arrested. They are no longer allowed in most schools and courtrooms. They are associated with gang behavior. I have worked with juveniles for 10 years, thus far we have never locked anyone up for what amounts to a bad fashion choice. But they are no longer allowed in our courtroom. If you come in with them on, you have to go and change.

um, do you mean baggy, or saggy?

i've heard and read stories about cities that have/want to make it a crime to wear low-rise jeans....

i think that's ridiculous, sort of like they can't make a move without waving their bible and morals all over, even though i don't think it says anything about low-rise jeans in the bible. just another group of ppl wanting to impose their values on the rest of us.

besides, i bet if they made it illegal for her to wear low-rise jeans, and illegal for him to "sag" his jeans, they still wouldn't outlaw plumber's crack, or fat ppl, or skinny ppl, or ugly ppl, or stupid ppl, or politicians, or ridiculous laws....
