Does the PS3 40GB Bundle come with a HDMI Cable? If not, is it neccessary if you want to use the PS3?

I highly suggest either HDMI or component cables. They do not come with the PS3, but you get a much better picture. If you have a 720p TV, or a TV smaller than 32" component is good enough, but if you have a 1080p TV and its big 32" or bigger then you can get the best picture with HDMI.

Whooowww do not get the 40 GB because it does not have backwards compatability and does have as many wireless slots. Plus it does not come with a HDMI cable but you will need it if you want the best picture out of your PS3.

No. None of the PS3 comes with HDMI cables.
You don't have to use HDMI cables. Depending on what type of TV you have, you can use other types of cables such as composite, component, s-video, etc.
