Go out with him! Only if u feel he really wants to go with you because he likes you not just to be going with you because he knows you would want your friend to ask you.

Unless the guy is a total dweeb, give him a chance. You never know what may happen. If the best friend hasn't asked you, don't sit around waiting .. you could miss out on a great dance AND a great guy too!

If the best friend doesn't ask you out, then unless you want to sit home, go. You don't have to sleep with the guy, because you go to a dance with him.

If he knows you like your best friend and asked you out anyways, no harm no foul. Go out with him anyway because he obviously only wants to go to the dance as friends.
