Did not Jesus say that "all who seek, find"? Yet so many people ask really dumb questions. Didn't any one Go to Sunday School, or perhaps CCD? 2000 years ago a man named Jesus was born & compleatly turned the world upside down. Even the calender denotes this.
What was that all about anyway? Isn't any one curious?

Getting into the Bible takes a lot of work and people are lazy. TV, movies, and the Internet give us what we want faster and easier. Plus, all those worldly outlets appeal to our carnal nature. They give us sexually-charged images, tell us all about how the celebrities we worship are screwing up, and keep our minds occupied so easily. Getting into God's word requires us to think and really seek Him. It's so much more work than the average American is willing to give. And we are not under any type of persecution here, at least not like in Biblical times and in places like China. We are comfortable in our sin and so why would Americans seek repentance and forgiveness when we can just switch on the TV or computer and be fed a buffet of junk we love to consume?

PS - Acid, read "The Case for Christ" to see just how much non-Biblical info there is out there about Jesus.

well it's not fair to say that people ask dumb questions, any and every question has an answer. if you don't ask (because someone may think it's dumb) you'll NEVER know. It's like the reason there are eraser's on pencils, because EVERYBODY makes mistakes. So EVERYBODY isn't always going to know what they need to, if we did we wouldn't need the bible at all, would we. AND if it weren't for some in the bible asking Jesus questions, we wouldn't have the answer to some of those questions. i guess some people just don't read as often as other's, that's it. Good thing you do, but don't be so mean to those who don't, it's not christian like (i take it you are, since you READ the bible and have ALL the answer's). Ask yourself, Would Jesus call people dumb for ASKING questions?

Well, it's probably because the bible is very hard to read, and even harder to understand. Also, remember, the bible was not written by Jesus, but by men, some of whom knew Jesus, some of whom didn't. The best way to learn about the bible is to find a church you 'click' with, and then be taught about the bible from someone that went to school to study it.

Frankly, I think its a good thing that folks are turning away from the Bible. It's been the cause of much bloodshed and anguish through the ages. Additionally, I don't care much for a book that has 6 more aisles in the Bookstore devoted to how to read and understand it. PEACE!

The bible was way more interesting before the coming of Jesus. I am working on my fifth cover-to-cover read of the bible in my lifetime. How can someone not be curious? What book has caused more death and human suffering than the bible? It is really something that people should know.

I went to catholic school for about a decade and was raised as a catholic most of my life.. so yes, i do read the bible from time to time but it doesn't mean i believe in it. However, people should NOT and are NOT required to read the Bible because not everyone in the world is Christian. You need to accept that not everyone deludes themselves into believing that some magical heavenly being exists so don't push your BS religion on other people.

Just because you never ventured out of your little Christian bubble of delusion doesn't mean that other people should be obliged to believe in some messiah-wannabe zombie. What the hell do you know about anything outside the realm of Christianity anyway? Try sticking your head out of your *** for once.

You can thank Charles Darwin for dumbing up mankind's belief and understanding of the God Yahweh's science book that mankind mislabeled a religious book that we call The Bible.

You are so right. Even the Books of Daniel and Revelation are better news today than the newspaper or TV news, yet people will not read the Bible.

God is returning soon and they know nothing about it. The sad part is that some do not care. They are too wicked to care.

I do believe that people are beginning to search the Bible and Bible Study is increasing greatly.

the Bible's a rather large book....it would take quite a while to read the whole thing! i personally believe that everyone, no matter their personal religious views, should study and know the basic beliefs of other religious groups....that way, people would understand other cultures better.

The Bible is probably the strongest case for atheism I've ever seen. Asking a question that disagrees with the Bible does not imply biblical illiteracy.
