Atheists aren't part of an organized group. We don't have weekly meetings to celebrate being atheists.Actually,I've never heard of an atheist group. Don't insult people of faith by being full of self gloating and arrogance as you describe atheists. As far as going to a prison,I think those people are where they belong,I never visited a rehab,But I do deliver meals to the elderly and shut-ins several days a week.I do drop loose change into the little red buckets .You make me proud to be an atheist.

Ever hear of the Red Cross?
Atheists do good things all the time. We just don't need to brag about it and proclaim we do it for the benefit of some gods.
I'm a nurse, and for the last 30 years I have taken care of people you so-called "Christians" and your nose-holding "charities" routinely turn your backs on. So I would get off that high horse of yours if I were you. Religionists have no corner on charity or compassion. The difference is, we have no ulterior motives, like getting into some fictional "heaven."

Anybody who "got up [and] gave praise to GOD and Jesus Christ for the selfless work they were doing for others" is nothing more than the Pharisees in the NT who made a big show of giving money to the poor--(the same story where the poor woman who drops only 2 cents into the offering makes the loudest sound because (a) she gave without looking for praise; and (b) she gave everything she had)
I have no praise or admiration for people who look for pats on the back--and that includes people like Bill Gates who "gives away" $25 billion yet keep billions for himself--this is a guy who made his fortune on selling defective products (e.g. Windows Vista) and holds an entire industry hostage

During the period known as the Great Depression, The Communist League ran soup kitchens, homeless shelters for single men, single women and families, started cooperatives that helped people find house, get furniture, clothes and food, operated bakeries and businesses, as well as news papers that employ the unemployed, created theater groups and art works projects.
The majority of members of this group were atheist.
Morality is not necessarily a "Christian" virtue, just as not judging others applies to Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

I doubt you read your answers but...
One of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (atheists).
The Red Cross was started by an atheist.
I was a Peace Corps Volunteer and many of my fellow PCV's were non-religious/non-believers.
(All of this from a group of people that represent less than 10% of the US population).

Before I got married I did some work with Dr's without borders, I volunteer for the for the hospital I work for to go help at any disaster, I regularly give to hospice and the humane society and red cross, and I help my elderly neibors with household repairs and heavy lifting.I dont put anything in those little red buckets though, because for many reasons I think the salvation army is bad.

Atheists don't generally think of themselves as a group, so not many such groups exist. But it isn't difficult to find atheists among major charitable organizations. And don't forget that one of the largest foundations, The Bill and Melinda Gates Fondation is funded by they and Warren Buffett, atheists.

My aren't we the judgmental one, I believe according to your scriptures that that is up to your deity not you.
Most atheists do not belong to specific atheist groups - I never have. I do however, volunteer at a number of charities and give both my time and money to worthwhile ones. Unless you can talk to a good many more atheists than you have, you shouldn't pull out the paint brush and smear everything with the same dirty brushstroke.

Rather a large assumption based on one television tribute don't you think?
I know Atheists who volunteer to work with the disabled, the homeless, the elderly etc. They're not glorified for their hard work and that doesn't matter to them, because that's not the reason they do it.
Try being proud of your religion without tearing down other people. That's not a very "Christian" thing to do.

There are no "atheist" groups because atheism is not the kind of thing you organize around. It is a lack of belief. We tend to donate to/ get involved in secular outreach programs.
By the way, I occasionally donate to Christian organizations, myself. Just as long as they are providing help to all without imposing their views on people in some way. For example, I know of one Christian outreach program that kicked a guy out of their shelter because he found a job as a bouncer in a bar, and they felt that being involved with purveyors of alcohol wasn't Christian behavior. Those jerks won't get any of my money.
