For a research that I am doing, I needed to find out a British Immigrant that lived in 1700s in Porto, Portugal.

However, the British Consulate/Embassy in Porto closed down many years ago, and I don't know where they sent all those documents and records of all those British People living in Porto from 1600s until the 20th Century. They must have had a register, but where is it now?

I appreciate any SERIOUS help from any one who has knowledge on these things.

Cheers

Contact the Foreign Affairs Department of UK to know where the files of the embassy in Porto were placed.

Try the national archive at Kew

or
