How come all the 60GB PS3s have been sold-out?!

Also, can foreign versions of games play online with a version of the game from another country? e.g. If you bought Call of Duty from America, would it be able to play online here in the UK and connect with all the UK versions of the games?

Thanks everyone.

PS3 games are region free meaning they have no specific titles per region/country

The 60Gig has been replaced by the 80Gig, and is no longer in production, so once they are gone... there gone. Could always check ebay though.

PS3's are nearly all sold out because Sony discoutinued them earlier this year. I'm glad that I got mine before they were discontinued, but most people didn't expect Sony to discontinue the 60GB version anyways.

I've seen a few new 60GB PS3's for sale on Amazon.com, but they are selling for $600+ dollars. Sellers know that the 60GB PS3 is one of the most desired PS3's because it has the same features as the 80GB PS3, it has full backward compatibility just like the 20GB PS3, and it has been discontinued.

And yes, games from other countries can be played on the PS3 because it is region free.
